Product Safety and Quality Engineering

In February 1999 a new research group, “Product Safety and Quality Engineering (FG ProQ)”, was established at the former Safety Technology Department. With this research group we want to respond to a demand of the practice to connect safety aspects with the modern demands of the quality science.



Goals of Teaching and Research

All companies must fully guarantee the process and product safety. In times of worldwide business actions, this basis of product liability-free and success-oriented working can be stabilized by a variety of, in part permanently changing, influences. Therefore, the practice requires both easy-to-handle organizational and management tools, as well as a well-qualified personnel. As a result, marketability, production efficiency and legal certainty should build a success trio. The aim of the Product Safety and Quality Management research group is to contribute to this within the university education of safety engineers. This can only be guaranteed permanently if teaching and research as well as a close contact with the practice are ensured. The teaching and object of research of the FG ProQ is the permanent guarantee of safety and quality across all processes of the product life cycle.
